Charm City Athletics is deeply committed to fostering the principles of Positive Coaching and firmly stands against a "win-at-all-cost" mentality. While winning is a shared goal, our coaching philosophy places an even greater emphasis on utilizing the sports experience to impart valuable "life lessons" and positive character traits that contribute to the long-term success of young individuals.
In order to create the right atmosphere for these activities, our organization has implemented a zero-tolerance policy in the enforcement of the Coach Code of Conduct. As a coach in our league, I pledge to uphold the following principles:
1. Prioritize Player Well-being: I will prioritize the emotional and physical well-being of my players above my personal desire to win.
2. Individualized Approach: I will treat each player as an individual, expecting age-appropriate skills from all team members.
3. Safety First: I will strive to provide a safe playing environment for my players.
4. Lead by Example: I will lead by example, demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship both on and off the field.
5. Respect for Authority: I will respect the decisions made by referees and fellow coaches.
6. Youth Focus: I will consistently acknowledge that I am a youth sports coach, and that the game is designed for children, not adults.
7. Adherence to Code of Conduct: I will strictly adhere to the Coaches Code of Conduct during any CCA sports activity.
8. Rules Knowledge: I will acquire and maintain knowledge of the rules governing each sport I coach, ensuring that I teach these rules to my players.
By affixing my signature below, I acknowledge my commitment to the above Code of Conduct. I understand that failure to comply with the Coach Code of Conduct may result in my suspension from participating in Charm City Athletics activities, the duration of which will be determined by Charm City Athletics Staff.
